Concrete masonry units (CMUs) continue to be installed, about half of the building exterior is covered. The east side wall is closest to completion. Metalwork around the windows is now being installed there.
Several stairwells have been installed; two more are under construction this week. The freight elevator may be operational next week. The material lift will then be dismantled and removed.
Wall partitions and window units are now installed on the 4th floor of section C.
Portions of the roadway to the building are being poured today.
Temporary doors are being installed at electrical closets in anticipation of electricity to the permanent circuits. These doors will be locked when the power is turned on.
Work on assembling the air-handler equipment is 50% complete. Six air-handlers supply sections D, C, and B. Five of these air-handlers are in the section C penthouse; one is on the first floor of section D. Two more air-handlers are located in a lower penthouse of section A and supply that wing of the building. Each air-handler is comprised of a "hot-deck" above and a "cold-deck" below. The steam and chill water lines tie into very large heat exchangers in their respective decks. The air-handlers will connect to louvered air intake ducts that control the amount of ambient air mixed with the return air.
Workers must crawl into several 30 by 60 inch ducts to cut out holes for the final connections.
A total of 154 continuous days without a loss time accident was reached before a lost time accident occured several days ago. A workman broke two ribs. Approximately 220 workers are on site today:
