Positioning Women for Corporate Boards

Women hold only 12 percent of corporate board seats in the United States. Board selection committees nationwide report that it is difficult to find qualified women to fill key positions on boards of directors. While outstanding women candidates exist, many of them are unaware of how to improve their visibility to these selection committees and the strategies and skills they must exercise in order to become successful board candidates.

Positioning Women for Corporate Boards, a three-day residential program, features insights, conversations and expertise from board members and selection committee chairmen as well as instruction from faculty of The University of Texas at Dallas, The Leadership Center at UT Dallas and the Institute for Excellence in Corporate Governance (IECG). The program is designed to help women leaders learn how to raise their profiles with corporate board selection committees and confidently secure board positions.

This executive seminar is structured to include opportunities for participants to share their own experiences as their responsibilities have grown. Professional women from the corporate and not-for-profit sectors who are interested in or have been approached to be considered for a position on a board of directors would benefit from participating in this seminar.
