“Dominance or Death”

For the past 15 years Professor Michael D. Oliff has focused on one issue:

What separates dominant from dying businesses?

He has worked directly with the top management teams of Accenture, Exxon, Johnson & Johnson, Nestle, Nokia, SMH (the Swiss watch industry), Sony and others.

As Professor and Director of Manufacturing 2000 at IMD, the top international management school in the world, he has worked with some of the best-run global organizations.

He concludes that dominance can be explained by three related but distinct factors:

1) Corporate Strategies that create value with Customers
2) Business Structures built on Distinctive Competencies
3) Management Systems that can generate Stretch Cultures

For any enterprise able to sustain influence in its chosen markets, “Dominance” is dependant on all three.
