Why ISOM Doctorate? The PhD program provides students with opportunities to conduct research using innovative methodologies and technologies. MissionThe mission of the PhD program in Information Systems is to train students in conducting research in a rigorous manner, with emphasis on both theoretical and methodological issues. The mission of the PhD program in Operations Management is to produce individuals who shape both the academic profession and the practice of management using concepts and analytical techniques required in the effective management of manufacturing and service operations. Programs Applicants from diverse backgrounds and disciplines, with or without formal study in Management, are evaluated with regard to their potential to excel in the program. In the first two years of the PhD program, students develop an array of research skills. In subsequent years, students acquire an in-depth knowledge of a specific area while working with a faculty member. The program is completed with the writing of a dissertation that is an original contribution to knowledge. Applications for admission should be addressed to the Director of the PhD program through the registration office. Students admitted into the program are provided with research/teaching assistantships or fellowships. |
